    This quilt was made by Hilda Korte of New Athens, Illinois.  She was born a a Wedemann, August 13, 1901 in Prairie de Long Township.  Her mother died when she was 19 days old.  She married and widowed a few times, and moved with her last husband to Waterloo, Illinois.  She made over 600 quilts, many of them given to her 30 grandchildren.  The quilt is in very good condition, with hand-quilting in lines and curves.
